Document the pattern
Photograph the residue and the surrounding floor. Record dates when it appears and whether rain, washing or vehicle water seems related. Include wall-floor junctions, drains and the doorway in your sketch. Tell the contractor about previous cleaners and any sealer applied.
Do not confuse removing a deposit with resolving its cause
A clean-looking floor is only one observation. Ask whether water entry, slab moisture or an old treatment needs investigation before a coating is specified. Avoid trying an acid or an unknown cleaning product just to make the patch disappear ahead of an estimate.

Require a decision tied to the actual system
Ask for the relevant product limit, the assessment method and the response if the slab does not meet that limit. “This product handles humidity” is not a complete answer to a recurring deposit at the slab edge.
