Prepare an operating brief
Record floor area, hours, equipment routes, wheeled loads and the products that may contact the surface. Name any site requirements the contractor must evaluate; do not assume a residential decorative system satisfies them.
Define downtime by activity
Ask about preparation, application, recoat intervals and return of pedestrians, equipment and normal operations separately. If phasing is proposed, agree on access boundaries and how work areas are separated.
Compare specifications and evidence
Request a named system with product data, the preparation and repair scope, relevant project references and written care instructions. A claim of general durability is not a specification for a particular chemical or load.
