Ask what profile the system requires
ICRI explains concrete surface profiles as a way to describe preparation. Ask the contractor which requirement belongs to the selected coating and how the finished preparation is assessed. A universally “rougher is better” answer is not a system specification.
Include the edges and fixed obstacles
Mark door tracks, corners, steps and cabinets. Ask how accessible edges will be prepared and which areas are excluded. The boundary guide helps make the working area clear.
Keep removal and repairs explicit
Grinding may be part of removing a prior coating or preparing exposed concrete, but the scope should state the actual tasks. Ask what happens if weak concrete, contamination or hidden repairs appear.
