Ask what will be measured onsite
Record the garage’s ventilation, sunlight and any water observed near the door or walls. Ask the contractor how ambient and substrate conditions will be checked and documented before application.
Discuss the dew point without guessing from the forecast
Some product instructions require the substrate to stay above the dew point by a specified margin. Sika’s product instructions are an example of condition-dependent application requirements. The contractor should use the actual chosen product’s margin and measurements.
Make a delay plan before installation day
Ask what happens if conditions are outside the specified range: who makes the decision, when you will hear back and how storage or access plans change. The scope should distinguish preparation time, application time and permitted use afterward.
