Record the line before discussing repair
Photograph the full path and close views with a size reference. Note any uneven edge, previous filler or change you have observed over time. Do not diagnose the cause from width alone or widen a crack to prepare it for an estimate.
Ask what the coating scope can address
A surface repair and a structural or movement concern are different tasks. The contractor should explain the proposed material, preparation and appearance limits. If further evaluation is recommended, resolve it before assuming the decorative coating will cover the concern.
Price repair clearly
Identify which lines are included, whether the quote has a measured allowance and how additional work is authorized. Ask about cure and compatibility between the repair material and the floor system.

Include the documented lines with your project request. Ask the contractor to state expected visibility at handover, so “repair included” is a usable promise.
