Build a small sample comparison
Place candidate samples beside the wall, cabinets and a vehicle when practical. Examine them in daylight and under the garage fixtures. Step back to the doorway so you judge the overall color field rather than an individual chip.
Ask what the sample actually represents
Confirm the blend name, chip size, full or partial broadcast and final topcoat. A sample with a different gloss or texture can misrepresent the surface you are selecting. Keep the approved sample or a clear record with the proposal.
Consider marks you see between cleanings
Think about fine dust, tire paths, workshop debris and small dropped parts. Look for the balance you prefer rather than a universal claim that one color hides everything. A varied blend and a solid color can make these details read differently.
Set realistic finish expectations
Ask how repairs and unevenness may show and what a future patch could look like. Review gloss and reflection together with color. A decorative blend does not resolve substrate damage.
